Chile: Land of many faces

Chile is a a long skinny country on the west coast of the South American continent.  At its widest point, it is only 177 kilometers or 110 miles wide, but it is 4270 km or 2653 miles from north to south.  You can compare its climates with similar ones from Baja California to southeastern Alaska (on the North American west coast).  We were in four of the sixteen regions of the country; Región Metropolitana (which includes Santiago) and the three regions below.  It was a trip of many disturbances and adventures, but I am very glad I had the experience!  I hope you all enjoy your trip!

The Atacama Desert (Antofagasta Región)

The Araucanía Región

Valparaíso Región
